One True Media: Take Your Images To the Next Level!

icon.jpgFrom the Bear Den…

Today we are going to review the OneTrueMedia website. There are many photo sharing web sites on the internet that allow you to share your videos and photos as slideshows. OneTrueMedia allows you to take you photos and videos, and “kicks them up a notch” by creating a Video Montage, Photo Book or Slideshow of your image collection. Let’s go walk through a sample creation…

My Studio Screen

You start by selecting what type of creation you want to make (Montage, Photo Book or Slideshow from the My Studio screen). If you already have created other projects they will also be displayed on this screen. All the screens are tabbed so it is very easy to understand the project flow. I wanted to create a video montage of some photos of our cat in her favorite box.

Upload Screen

Then you select what photos and videos you want included by uploading the photos and videos to the website. Various popular image, video and audio formats are supported, including Quicktime (.mov) which I was happy to see since my camera stores videos in this format (Editor’s note: Don’t forget you can easily convert those movies here). If you want, there is some “stock content” on the site that you can use if you don’t have a photo you wish to include in your creation.

Once you have your content uploaded, you have the ability to change the presentation sequence. You can insert text slides for titles, credits or whatever you message you would like to convey. Content can be removed or added at this point also. You can insert transitions that will take place between each image, add special effects, and even a soundtrack from a collection on the site, or you can upload your favorite song.

Montage Style Screen

You can select a “Style” for your montage that will automatically embed your images into a really cool themed video montage. People are going to look at you montage and wonder how in the world you ever created such a masterpiece!

Project Home Screen

Once we have completed our montage, you are taken to the Project Home Screen where you can preview your montage. Publish and Edit options are available on this screen if you need to go back and do some fine tuning. If you are happy the way it is you can then select a Publish option.

share.jpg

Montage Share Screen

Options include Share and Post Online, Buy a DVD or Download an MP4 of your montage to copy onto a digital media player such as an iPod or other portable media player. If you know someone that has a TiVo connected to the net, you can create your own TiVo channel so that all your friends with TiVo can view your montage, in broadcast quality!

You have the ability to take your montage and email, embed it into a blog or website, post it to YouTube or even send your friend a link to their mobile phone, where they can go and view your montage (if they have mobile internet capability).

One True Media, is a one stop site that will not only let you create amazing presentations of you photos and videos, they also offer to sell you a copy of your presentation on DVD. As typically seen on other sites, ordering one DVD is costly, but if you want to purchase more than 10, they offer price discounts. You even create the cover art work for the DVD. This would be a great option for presentations from weddings and special occasions.

Product Selection Screen

But wait, there’s more! You can buy all kinds of neat stuff with your image on it. Mugs with your mug on it, calendars with a family member for each month, or clothes are all possibilities to think about. Other photo sharing sites also offer these options, but I found it convenient to have these options at One True Media so I didn’t have to go to another site and download my images to have these abilities.

Photo Book Creation Screen

We have concentrated on the video montage creation so far, but there are two more presentation options you can select for your images. You can also take your prize photos and create a Photo Book. The project flow is the same, upload images and put them in the order you would like them presented. You can even purchase a 10” by 10” hard cover or 8.5” by 8.5” soft cover Photo Book of your collection. Cost of the Photo Book, 20 page Hardcover is $29.99, 20 page Soft Cover is $15.99. Remember, 20 pages is actually 10 pages both sides. Additional pages can be ordered.

Slideshow Project Screen

You also have the ability of creating a slide show. There are preformatted styles that you can select to display your images. Same options that are available in the video montage are here, apply a soundtrack, share and post online and editing capabilities are all available. To save time you also have the ability to export your projects from one type of project to another (Montage or Photo Book).

Ok, about now, you’re wondering what all this will all cost, right? One True Media offer two memberships, Free and Premium. Below are the details of the Premium membership. Premium memberships offer additional media, a free DVD and unlimited storage of your images.

Now, if you’re just in the “creative mood” you can view other One True Media member’s creations under the Watch tab and maybe get inspired.

In closing……

OneTrueMedia’s website is very user friendly. I never even looked for online help. The layout is organized and simple. Project flow is straight forward and the same for all projects. They have included convenient capabilities for the user in the offering of products that your images can be applied to. Whether you are just in need of sending someone a birthday wish, or you want to capture a special moment and produce it in a more formal package such as a book or DVD, OneTrueMedia has what you need.

Here is the final Montage project I made about the cat in a box.

Oh and here a Slideshow I created from a recent trip to the Republic of Georgia. It really was easy….
